Personal
Branding: What's Real, What's Useful &
What's Neither
'Image' and 'Personal
Branding' have become trendy catch phrases. Skepticism is at least partially deserved;
however, these are valid concepts that if properly understood and acted upon will
lead to personal and career success.
This workshop is based in part upon Charmaine's one-on-one discussions with CEO's
about the critical role that 'personal branding' plays in the promotion and derailment
of careers. This program sorts out what's real in image management from what's
not. It delivers proven and practical steps to develop authentic personal style
and enables executives to be both seen and heard as leaders and recognized for
what they do well.
"I have personally benefited from working with Charmaine one-on-one as well
as in a group setting. Each time, I am so impressed with her business acumen,
intelligence, and genuine desire to help people enhance their professional image.
Her questions are thought-provoking and her insights have real impact. She is
a unique, results-oriented individual with demonstrated success in the intangible
arena of perception management. Charmaine is a great resource."

One-on-One Image Management
Consultations
Studies show that most
people form an opinion about another’s ability or competence within 30 seconds.
Further, this opinion is formed largely on the basis of your general appearance
and how "you sound," not on what you actually say.
According
to UCLA research, when the messages delivered by the three major components of
communication – appearance, voice and content – aren't congruent, 93% of the listener's
response comes from how you look and sound. Breaking this down further, 55% of
the response comes from the visual component – your general appearance. An additional
38% of the response comes from the vocal component – how you use your voice, your
timing and delivery. Only 7% of the listener's response to your message comes
from what you're actually saying!
93% of a communicator's
effectiveness is determined by style, not content.
The
conclusion couldn't be any clearer. If you want to be seen and heard as a leader,
you must master non-verbal aspects of communication. Effective leaders express
their confidence and their capabilities through their:
Dress
Appearance
Body language
Posture
Pitch, Volume, and Tone of
Voice
Timing and Delivery
We
help busy professionals refine their individual style and ensure that their wardrobe
remains congruent with their professional and personal demands. After an initial
consultation, we do everything necessary to develop and maintain the desired image
of the executive in any business/social situation, whether making a toast, chairing
a board meeting, at the podium or in the courtroom.
"Sixteen years ago, when I first contacted Charmaine about improving my personal
brand, she was well-known and respected among successful business women of the
San Francisco Bay Area. After utilizing her services I came to understand why
her clients affectionately described periods in their careers as 'BC' (before
Charmaine) or 'AC' (after Charmaine). The work she does in perfecting and polishing
her clients image is remarkable and often astonishing! In addition, her communication
skills are exceptional. I continue to be amazed at how quickly her mind works
to help me articulate my message in personal and professional situations. Charmaine
is a woman of extraordinary talents and I am thrilled having had her assistance
during my journey to become a bestselling author and nationally known financial
expert."
